Eighty Easter Eggs

This past weekend was another busy one! First, this lovely lady, whom I refer to as 'Grandmom,' turned 80! Doesn't she look wonderful? She is one of the most amazing women I have ever know. I'm so blessed to have her in my life. We celebrated her birthday with the rest of the family in Westminster (before the tornado hit, shew!)

On Sunday, we took the kids to the Maryland Line Fire Department for an Easter Egg Hunt. Zachary loved meeting the Easter Bunny and ran right up to him. Olivia wasn't feeling 100% but she was content to sit in her stroller while he came to say hi.

They had a really nice set-up where all age groups were divided. Olivia enjoyed sitting on the ground putting near-by eggs in her basket.

The older kids collected their eggs so quickly I missed getting pictures. Z managed to get a lot of eggs. He was very proud of his loot!

From Snow to Sunshine and a Thing or Two

Hellooooo Mother Nature has lost her mind!!!! We're going crazy here trying to figure out how to dress for the weather! Are you?

Anyway, this past Monday was GORGEOUS. We didn't waste anytime getting outside after naps were over. Zachary had a great time riding his bike and Olivia explored the yard. It was nice that both kids were totally wiped out at the end of the day too!

How cute are these kids and the shirts they are wearing? My sister got these in Disney, last Fall, and I have been itching for the kids to wear them!

The Greatest Show on Earth

Today we went to the circus with Sarah, Phil and Collin. We all had a WONDERFUL time. We got there early so we could enjoy the pre-show events, down on the floor. We did a little clownin' around, got tattoos and watched some little shows.
I love events where they encourage you to take pictures! Of course I took full advantage but I'm only sharing a few :)

Rich the clown

She wasn't a big fan

Honk!

Collin did some clowning around of his own

This was Olivia's face pretty much all day.

Z got to sit on one of the awesome motorcycles. He said they were his favorite part of the show.

The End!

Z barely made it out of the city before he fell asleep

Olivia, well, she never went to sleep!
What a great family fun day!

13.1 - Ice Cold

Just a little update about my training. This past weekend I completed 13.1 miles, an official HALF marathon! I'd like to say that it was super easy and fun, but it was HARD. We ran a route that had us going up mountains and rolling hills. It was definitely mentally draining along with being physically challenging.

I'm definitely learning a lot about the mental game of running and staying focused. My coaches have been amazing and so supportive. They also have some crazy tips, like taking ice baths, to help us recover from our long runs.

I figured there was no better time to give their little "tip" a try, then after 13 miles. Rich came and took a picture of me to document that I have actually lost my mind!

This may not look like fun, but I really am having a BLAST!

We drop back this weekend to 10 miles and then start getting into crazy long mileage. I think I'm averaging 26 to 30 miles per week now. wooo!

Firefighters and Frills

We have had such a busy month of birthdays!! Last Sunday we spent the afternoon at the Fire House celebrating firefighter Natalie's 6th birthday. It was a fun time of touring the station, riding an engine, squirting a hose and of course enjoying snacks and cupcakes! Zachary wasn't feeling 100% as you can see in the pictures. He was very content to look at everything and loved riding on the engine though. He did do a nice 'cheese' face in the group shot!

Notice the other kids are listening to the firefighter...

Boo!

Olivia got a little fire engine action

The mom of the birthday girl can be seen in the passenger seat. Hi Carrie!

Squirting the hose! The kids loved this (even though it was just the hose they use to wash the engines)

Natalie the birthday girl!

group shot - minus a few kids!

Tonight we got a very special treat! Zachary's buddy, Madelyn, had a tea party and we were invited! I have to say that this was one of the cutest parties we have ever attended. Zachary had a GREAT time playing all of the games and eating the yummy food they had. He really liked pouring his own 'tea' from the fancy tea pots. The little girls were too cute all dressed up in their hats and boas!
Madelyn, the birthday girl, is on the left

How pretty is this?!?

Eating his dinner

Both parties were an absolute blast! Thanks to Natalie and Madi for inviting us to share their big days! I'm also excited that I now have 2 awesome ideas for future birthday parties for my kiddos!!!

Olivia's Birthday

I don't have any pictures from Olivia's actual birthday. We pretty much spent it as a regular day, then went to dinner at Chili's (Olivia's pick, hehe) and Friendly's for ice cream.

Saturday was her actual party. We had a great day celebrating with family and friends. Olivia is getting 4 teeth right now and wasn't in a party mood but we got the job done. Her "theme" for the party was cupcakes - complete with a giant cupcake cake!
