Birthday Party Blog
I am beyond annoyed right now. I just spent the better part of my evening resizing pictures and naming them and now they won't upload due to "internal errors." What does that mean???????
My internals seem just freakin' fine - this bloggity blog business is a pain!
Anyway, just imagine lots of kids running around in the hot sun, splashing in and out of pools, playing slip n slide on the hardwood floors, tons of gifts, adults drinking beer and cupcakes that resembled mickey mouse but looked more like bears.
Ta Da! You have just enjoyed a 2nd birthday party.
Here - it allowed me to upload this somewhat focused, terribly angled picture of Z enjoying a cupcake with an umbrella pole in the way.

O's Game
Sunday we took Zachary to his second O's game (and Miranda's 1st). It was a beautiful but HOT day to go to the ball field. I have to say that taking Z as a 1 year old was easier than taking him as a 2 year old. He was pretty fidgety and just wanted to run around the whole time. Thankfully Rich didn't mind showing him the ins and outs of the entire place, THREE TIMES. The kid was POOPED at the end of the day!

ready to leave for the game!

Saturday Morning Play Date
This morning we had the pleasure of having Natalie over for a little play date. Zachary absolutely loves "Nanny." They had a great time playing, tormenting the dog, dancing and sharing a little snack together.
natalie was talking on the phone A LOT... she's very important!

i think she was confused by my paparazzi ways

tormenting the dog - the kids were cracking up at this
snack time!
cheers!

Mini-Birthday Celebration
We aren't celebrating Zachary's birthday until the 18th but we HAD to have a little cake and sing to him on his actual birthday evening.

Happy 2nd Birthday Zachary!
Goodness gracious how is this day here already??? This past year was a whirlwind of learning for both Zachary and us. It's amazing how he went from a bald, round faced, mostly toothless baby to a talking ball of tantrums, opinions and smartypantsness.
We could not be more in love with this little boy. Here, watch him transform over the past 12 months...

Can you believe how different he looks? I certainly can't!
This morning while I was eating breakfast with Zachary I asked him "How old are you today?" and he responded "Nine!" While I was laughing at his silliness I couldn't help but think that nine is going to come in a blink of an eye. I'm not ready!
Here are just a few current things Zachary does or says (some he's been doing for awhile) -
~ He puts 3 to 5 words together to make a sentence, this morning he said "Daddy, I put lid on"
~ He has learned the word 'yes' which is a nice change from 'no' but he says it to answer EVERYTHING.
~ He runs fast... faster than we can catch him sometimes
~ He picks out his own snacks and drinks
~ He helps snap himself into everything
~ He takes 2 to 3 hour naps a day and sleeps 11 hours at night
~ He LOVES milk and could drink it all day if we let him
~ He uses his imagination to play
~ He counts to 15 (leaving out 4 and 8 most of the time)
~ He sings his ABCs
~ He loves playing ring-around-the-rosie
~ He mocks, imitates and repeats EVERYTHING we do and say
~ He calls everything 'yellow' even though he knows the other colors. He just does it to be silly.
~ He can point out and name trash trucks, school buses, dump trucks, diggers, tractors and combines!
There are many, many more great and amazing things he can do, too many to list or even remember! Rich and I are so blessed and so happy that Zachary is our son. He fulfills all of our dreams as parents and we can't wait to continue watching him grow (a slower rate would be nice though)!
We love you Zachary! Happy 2nd Birthday Monkey!

Sprinkle, Sprinkle
Yesterday some old co-workers of mine and I got together to "sprinkle" Carrie with some gifts for her bundle of joy that is making his debut in August. She was very surprised and got some super cute stuff!

Independence Day!
What a beautiful 4th of July! We couldn't have asked for better weather or a day filled with so much fun.
We loaded up the car and went to Cecil County for a great day. First, Zachary watered Pop Mike's corn field. He made sure to get EVERY.SINGLE.STALK. Ok, maybe he only got to 5 or so.

Nana cooked an awesome dinner that included beer chicken...mmmmm

Even squishy baby Lillian came to enjoy the fun!

After dinner we went over to the Jack's (Sarah's soon-to-be in laws) for some swimming and fireworks!

Z and Aunt Randi
One of the funniest parts of the day was trying to get a picture of all 3 grand kids for my mom, while the kids were in the pool!

Take 1 - Fail and a finger in the ear

Take 2 - Fail and a finger up the nose

Take 3 - Fail and no one looks in the same direction

After swimming it was time to warm up a bit. Nana took Zachary on a little bike ride. He had a blast playing on a "big boy bike."

Then we roasted some marshmallows and hung out while we waited for it to get dark.
