The stats are in!

My little boy is getting so big! We just had his 18 month check-up this morning and here's how he is doing...

He is 35 1/2 inches tall. He only grew 1 inch in 3 months which was shocking to me!

He is 25lbs 14oz which is a 2lb gain in 3 months.

Overall he is perfect in every little way and doing exactly what he should be doing for his age. He is amazing us more and more each and every day. Here are some things he can do/say.

He can point to all of his body parts (minus the eyes and nose) when we ask him to.

He can say so many words, the newest being "poop!" when he has either pooped or watched one of the dogs go. (ew) He LOVES to brush his teeth and requests to do it all day long. He calls for the dogs "Rayyy Rayyy" for Raven and "Dum Dum" for Camden (very appropriate!) He takes off his shoes, socks and pants when requested to do so.

So those are all of the good things... my little angel isn't perfect though...

He has started throwing major tantrums when he doesn't get his way. He hits EVERYTHING and he screams and thrashes about when I try to put his coat on and get him in the car to go somewhere.  He's a real peach!

Z still only has 7 teeth but he's working on his molars and when they come in the world will be a happier place!

I'm such a hooker!

A latch hooker that is :) I have been working on a rug for the past 2 weeks for Z's big boy room. I got the idea from the awesome blanket Sarah made for Z. We are going to do his room in primary bold colors. I'll miss the puppies but I think he's really going to love this!
Here he is checking it out. The blanke is on the right. How cool are they??

I have to give major props to Rich for cutting all of the string for me and not complaining one bit about it :) Thanks dear!

Happy 4th Birthday Dylan!

Today we went to Z's BFFs birthday party at the bowling alley. We had such a great time and this was Zachary's 1st time bowling!

Dylan jumped right in and started bowling, he had so much fun!

Alright I have my ball, now what?

There goes the ball!

He had more fun watching the balls come back.

Cheese!

Cutest pirate cake and cupcakes EVER!

The Narcoleptic 18 Month Old

Have you ever seen the pictures of kids sleeping in their high chairs in a middle of a meal, on the floor while playing with toys, in laundry baskets or under tables? Doesn't it make you think "wow those parents are so lucky to have such an easy sleeper!" and "Boy, that kid is EXHAUSTED to just fall asleep anywhere!" Yeah, that's not my kid - until recently.

Starting around Christmas Zachary has fallen asleep laying on Rich a few times or just put his head on our shoulders and closed his eyes randomly throughout the day. We have chalked it up to being really sick and exhausted from all of the holiday cheer.

Well this morning he got up around 8am, had breakfast, hung out with me for a little while and then while we were supposed to be playing in the living room he sat down next to me on the love seat, propped up his feet and passed out...

We haven't done anything strenuous or tiring. Just having a lazy day in our pjs and he was ready for a snooze! I moved him to his crib and he didn't bat an eyelash. I think I can get on board with this type of behavior! Doesn't it just melt your heart?
***Disclaimer - I did not drug him even though the empty pill bottle in his hand does seem suspicious***

What a HOT DOG day!

Ever since Zachary was super little I have put on Playhouse Disney in the morning for some background noise. As he got older I'd start singing the "Hot Dog" song to him at the end of Mickey Mouse Club House and doing the silly little dance. He caught on after awhile and would start boppin' to it with me. Welllll I have created a beast. Over the past couple of weeks Rich and I have been at our wits end to try and make our sick and teething crankster happy. I told Rich one night to get out the laptop and go to the Playhouse Disney website and find things that Z would be interested in. He stumbled across the "Hot Dog" song and played it a few times. Since that day Z will run and find the laptop, hold it up high and request "HOT DOG HOT DOG HOT DOG HOT DOG HOT DOG HOT DOG" over and over and over again until we finally find the song and play it for him - OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

This morning while we were getting ready to go grocery shopping Zachary found the laptop, pulled it clear across the room and screamed "HOT DOGGGGGGGGGGGG." I have to admit, I was a little afraid of him! I promptly told him "No we have to go" and got to listen to him cry for the next 45 minutes. I got him to stop once we got home and I fixed him a hot dog for lunch.

Can't wait to see what the next crazy phase will be!

Bedtime Routine

First we do a little splishin' and a splashin'
Then a little hair doin' - This is Spike, Z's alias.

Time for jammies and a more appropriate hair style for some serious sleeping!

Finally, takin' care of the teeth!
