Vroom Vroom Big Boy Room

I finally commited to a theme for Zachary's bedroom!!! I decided to do "Things that GO" or just big trucks, cars and buses. Since we aren't painting anything quite yet there isn't a HUGE transformation but we did rearrange the furniture, hang decals and some other stuff.

Take a look! He's still rockin' the crib until he is ready to move to the bus bed (and we're in nooo hurry for that).

We made this area a little "reading nook." Once we bring in the bus bed we will replace the glider with a big bean bag chair!

I'm sure once he learns he's big enough to climb out of his bed we will be forced to remove the crib so stay tuned for pictures of the AWESOME Bus Bed!!!

Walk-thru day

So we had our official walk-thru this afternoon. Holy hell they have been working hard! On Sunday there were so many little odds and ends that needed to be done that we thought we would walk into a very messy house today; it was actually the total opposite. The place looks AMAZONG (in the words of Sarah).

All of our appliances are in, they are putting a fence on top of the retaining wall that we didn't know about, and the BEST.THING.EVER. is the kitchen cabinet that pulls out and holds our trash cans. Yes, it's true... a trash can cabinet. EEk!

We didn't take pictures so you'll just have to wait and see, or come and visit!

Settlement is less than 48 hours away!!!!!! Woooooooooooooo

We got a face lift!

Yes ladies and gentlemen this is still the same house. The builders had some issues with our siding color so they decided to give us a brick front!! Rich and I couldn't be more thrilled with this change. We said if we had the option we would have wanted some brick on our house, and voila, we got it!

In other news, settlement has been postponed. We are not sure of the new date but we are hoping it's no more than an extra week. The driveway was poured today and it looks like the only thing left for the house is to finish the front porch. We're getting REALLY anxious and excited!

Holy Balls we have WALLS!

We went up to visit the house this Saturday and it is completely dry walled!!! We can really see the shape of the rooms now and envision where everything is going to go. So exciting! Here is a picture overload!

This is the retaining wall out back so we don't have a massive hill as a back yard. It will be about 12 feet high.

Picture standing in foyer looking into kitchen. That's the island.

So long, farewell...goooodddbyyyyyyyeeeee

Did you totally get the Von Trapp-ness of my title?

I know it seems like we have been saying "good-bye" to Moultree Pl for ages, believe me, it seems like ages to us as well. With packing and moving every weekend since the end of September we are officially pooped. We are also officially MOVED OUT.

Tonight Rich and I went over to do some cleaning and MORE packing of the things we just didn't feel like dealing with up until now. I walked the entire house and took pictures of each and every room remembering all of the wonderful memories that we have had the past 6 years...and...

These are a few of my favorite thingssssssssssss...

The deck (which is a hot mess right now) - all of the nights Rich and I would sit out there and drink margaritas and catch up on life.

Toilet - Oh this crazy little closet bathroom. It makes me laugh.

The basement/bar - This part of the house deserves it's own blog. Even though it wasn't used often when it was used we made a lot of memories. Whether it was a birthday party, football Sunday & Monday, girls night, beer pong, bridal showers or pre-wedding shots everyone always had a blast down there. I will never forget the Halloween party when Chris came as "White Trash," when Sarah turned 21, Rich turned 30, Cristin drank margaritas straight out of the drink fountain (ok we all did) and as always I partied until I passed out on the couch while everyone kept on going without me.

The crappy little kitchen that came a long way- This is where I learned that you CAN'T reheat a pizza in the pizza box, whole chickens CAN'T get shoved into the garbage disposal, ice trays should ALWAYS be refilled, and pouring and praying whilst making cake usually turns out pretty good as long as Sarah is there to boss me around!

The Nursery - This room started out as the spare room. It was my "Trading Spaces" project. I insisted we have a bright red wall, painted by Genevieve herself (Cristin) and make it very feng shui for all of our guests that would be staying with us. I'm pretty sure we had a handful of people use that room and that red wall was UGLY. What I didn't realize when we bought the house was that the spare room would become the room that was hardest to say goodbye to. I will always remember putting together the nursery for the little boy that changed my life in the most wonderful way. I stood on a chair, 5 months pregnant, for 3 hours stenciling in each and every single one of those puppy paws. Rich also put a lot of time into the room to make it absolutely perfect. We would stare into it almost every day anticipating bringing home the baby to complete it. Tonight, I stared into it and knew I'd never see it again and Zachary won't even remember it.

The Office - My favorite memory from this room is when Rich and I had our own desks back to back. We would work on our papers for our respective college courses and talk on Instant Messenger even though we were sitting in the same room.

Our Bedroom - Hands down the best memory in the house (minus bringing Zachary home) was Rich asking me to be his wife here.
Alright, so Julie Andrews would be very disappointed in my somber rendition of her very uplifting song but dammit I'm sad! I am sooooooo looking forward to more space, more parking, more bathrooms and more memories in our new house but Moultree will forever hold a place in my heart as my first HOME.
